aka the Star Wars/ Lord of the Rings rewrite with a dragon thrown in.
All the same, I really like this book. I just re-read it, having bought Eldest (the next in the trilogy) and read the first page, and realized I remembered NOTHING of the first book.
So now I'm just getting started reading Eldest, and was wondering, with the film being made, what people were thinking for casting?

Eragon stole my character!
And Gerard Way should play said character. Not Patroclus.

Yes, even Gee would be better than Patroclus.
Here's the casting as I've heard:
Eragon - some blond kid.
Brom - Jeremy Irons (NONONONO! He's good, but he's JUST NOT RIGHT! Plus, I saw him in Dungeons and Dragons, and he didn't act too well around dragons there... it would just be weird)
Arya - Sienna Guillory aka Some Blonde Woman. Is EVERYONE in this damn movie going to be blonde?
Murtagh - Patroclus (*cries* nooooo....)
Galbatorix - John Malkovich (Um. When are we going to be seeing him?)
Durza - The guy from the Full Monty, and the bad guy from The World is Not Enough. Only choice I agree with, he is creepy.
Ajihad - Djimon Hounsou (he was so good in 'In America' - again, my approval, though not quite what I imagined)
So far, this film doesn't bode well...

Well, Gee isn't an actor, is he? And he's a bit too old.

Ummm. Not all the time. He suppresses his angst and is usually extremely business-like, sometimes harshly so, and his sense of humour shows only when they're in mortal peril of some kind. He only releases his angst at one point, but there is implied angst throughout.
