I'm still quite stuck on the Potter Puppet Pals, even though they were videos...

... hokay.
Now, step 1 - choose your film. Here are some hints:
1. Choose a popular film most people have heard of. No-one is going to read a parody of 'Mrs Mavis goes to the Supermarket'.
2. Be tasteful. Parodying epic tragedies based on real life events is tricky if you still want to be sensitive.
3. Choose films that are easily mockable at first - such as Star Wars episode 3. That just begs to be made fun of. I can barely stop myself. Films by directors who are totally besotted by their own work are generally best.
4. Try not to make fun of comedies, it's just silly. They're already trying to make you laugh, so what's the point??
5. I personally think a parody is best if a) The characters' personalities are exaggerated or b) They're completely reversed. Not a mixture of the two. Choose a style and stick to it.
6. Pop culture/ comedy show references are fine, in moderation. If the scene is completely reminiscent of another, then sure, point that out - but don't have loads of random people turning up just to get a few cheap laughs from humour that isn't yours.
With those rules, choose a scene of a recently released popular film, and write a parody of it.
