Please ask my characters questions!
They are:
From Story 1, in which the characters try to stop a global corporation from stealing time and selling it off, which is causing the passage of time to go wrong, by preventing it from ever being created in the first place:
***, who is twenty-three and worked for the company regulating the time stream until it crashes and they blame him for not keeping a close enough eye on it. Unknown to them he has the ability to jump through time at will, which his friend Michael helps cover up and which is a very unusual talent to have. He's very intelligent but rarely uses his mind unless he has to.
Temperley, who is twenty-one and has a younger brother named Jeremy, and lives at home. She meets *** when she accidentally hits him with her car when he appears in front of her while she's driving Jeremy to school. She's very stubborn and opinionated and can be very sarcastic, and thinks she is far more mature than she is. She joins up with *** to make sure he pays for the damage he caused to her car.
Michael, who is nineteen and works with *** at the corporation before the timestream crashes and vanishes in the disaster caused by this. He seems very shy and quiet and doesn't really talk to anyone except for ***, whose jumping through time he covers up from their superiors.
Jeremy, who is seventeen and Temperley's main contact with her era of time once she takes to following *** around in order to get him to pay for the damage he caused to her car. He's a pretty serious computer nerd and is good at looking things up and finding things out for her.
From Story 2, in which the characters try to find out who's responsible for corrupting the plots of novels and short stories by smuggling through them:
Peter, who is nineteen and has been involved with the organisation regulating the plots of books since he was eight years old. Has a lot (and I mean a lot) of inner guilt over various things. He comes from a large family and is the youngest by about eight years. He's extremely intelligent but has a habit of doing stupid things on the spur of the moment as he is also very impulsive.
Julianne, who is eighteen and best friends with Ria. She was at sixth form college studying for a nursing diploma before she got involved with the whole book plot thing, and is exactly the sort of person you would expect to be a nurse. However, she also has a bit of an edge to her.
Ria, who is eighteen and completely mad in the same way as we are and has a love of shopping/skiving off college/ogling the window cleaners, sometimes all at once. She's very reliable.
Carl, who is twenty and went to school with Peter, and who they meet up with again about a quarter of the way through. He's less intelligent than Peter, who is his closest friend, but a lot more reliable and less likely to do stupid things. He's also extremely protective of his friend.
(And *** needs a name.)
