Scene 3 - The Shire
(Shot of Frodo sitting under a tree. Isn't the Shire pretty?)
FRODO: ... and Jill came tumbling after. The End. Damn, I hate unhappy endings. (sniff) All they wanted was a pail of water! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?!?!?
(Sound of terrible singing)
FRODO: (eyes widen) Ice-cream! (runs down hill as fast as his little legs can carry him)
GANDALF: The film goes ever on and on, down from the prologue where it began, and far ahead the film has gone, and I must stay awake if I can…
FRODO: Heh. LATE!
GANDALF: A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He always arrives PRE-CISE-LY when he means to.
FRODO: (confused by the use of three syllables)
GANDALF: Hmmm. (nods causing eyebrows to wobble)
FRODO: Your eyebrows are WEIRD.
GANDALF: I'm fully aware of that I’m a rival of Elrond.
FRODO: Can I get a ride?
GANDALF: Whatever. Don't feel down the sides of the seats though, I think there's something living down there. Haven't cleaned this cart since I rode it through Mirkwood.
FRODO: Ick.
GANDALF: I hear it's going to be a party of special magnificence.
FRODO: You know Bilbo. There's going to be a stereo, a few crates of vanilla coke and some sausage rolls.
GANDALF: Theme?
FRODO: Cowboy.
GANDALF: Sweet.
(Narrative interlude)
BILBO: Life goes on in the Shire... if you can call it a life... There has always been a Baggins here under the hill...
FRODO: Which is kinda ironic - you're an over-the-hill hobbit who lives under the hill! Hee hee!
BILBO: NO MORE SHOWER PRIVELEGES!
FRODO: Awwww!
(Back to the cart)
FRODO: Bilbo's been odd lately. I mean, odder than usual.
BOOK OBSESSED FAN: Us too, don’t worry about it.
FRODO: He keeps poring over old maps when he thinks I'm not looking. He's up to something.
GANDALF: Maybe he's just joined a map-reading club, oh suspicious big eyed hobbit who tries to be intellectual.
FRODO: Fine then, keep your secrets.
GANDALF: So I will.
FRODO: You don't know everything.
GANDALF: Yes I do.
FRODO: I know something you don't know.
GANDALF: No you don't. I know it, I just haven't told you.
FRODO: You don't know it. Only I know it.
GANDALF: I do so know it.
FRODO: Go on, tell me then.
GANDALF: Why should I tell you? You're the one who knows it.
FRODO: But you DON'T know it.
GANDALF: Prove it.
FRODO: But if I tell you, you'll say you knew it anyway.
GANDALF: I do know it anyway.
FRODO: YOU prove it.
GANDALF: But if I tell you what I know, you'll change what you know to something else.
FRODO: No I won't. If you tell me what you know I know, I'll know if you know it.
GANDALF: Yes, but I WON'T know.
FRODO: ...... Are you getting confused?
GANDALF: Er... no?
FRODO: Anyway, we Bagginses used to be very well thought of.
GANDALF: I knew THAT.
FRODO: Never had any adventures or did anything unexpected.
GANDALF: If you're referring to that business with the dragon, I was barely involved... all I did was give him a little nudge out of the door.
FRODO: First off, it wasn’t a nudge, it was a massive shove. Second off, it wasn’t a door, it was off a cliff.
GANDALF: Well, if you say it like THAT, of course it’s going to sound bad.
FRODO: You've been officially labelled a Disturber of the Peace.
GANDALF: Really...
FRODO: (giggles)
GANDALF: What? (finds sign taped to his back) 'I'm a Disturber of the Peace. Kick me.' Oh yes, Frodo, that's mature.
FRODO: Funny, too.
OLD MAN: (glare)
CUTESY HOBBIT KIDS: Ganfalf! Ganfalf!
AUDIENCE: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! They're - just - too - cute - cuteness - overload -
FIREWORKS: Boom.
CUTESY HOBBIT KIDS: Yaaaaay!
AUDIENCE: Ack - too - damn - cute -
FRODO: That was strangely kind-hearted of you, Gandalf.
GANDALF: (looking back, squinting through the smoke) Damn, I missed.
FRODO: Gandalf, I'm glad you're back.
GANDALF: Of course you are, I rock.

ARG! Have picture of Ian McKellen and Judi Dench as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth from 1976 in my Macbeth textbook, and Ian McKellen was, well, not hot, but approaching hotness. Ew.
Love the update BTW

EW.
But I can top that. I saw him Aladdin last year, and he was in several dresses of increasing skimpiness.
And finally, in a PVC Brittannia costume... *shudder*

They've got such surprised looks on their faces......I can't work out why from the script.
