Ever wondered why those characters looked so familiar in the cartoon version of the Lord of the Rings? well, here's a lovely explanation of my interpretation as to why that is. ;D 1. Elrond is played by Julius Caesar
2. Boromir is played by Erik the Viking
3. Aragorn is played by Bob the (American) Indian Chief
4. Sam Gamgee is played by a witless garden gnome that was granted life and has a vocabulary limited to "Mr. Frodo."
5. The Orcs are played by Dwerger stolen from Van Helsing
6. The Fell Beasts are played by pterodactyls
7. The Nazgul are played by Bat-men on steriods
8. Gollum/Smeagol is played by a genetically mutated Grinch (the cartoon one, not Jim Carey)
And the clincher as to why this film is absolutely EVIL:
9 and 10: Glorfindel (as pointed out by Katie) is replaced by Legolas who is played by a blonde Chinese woman with an attitude problem.

There's a comparison of the animated and live-action LOTR films on www.jerrythefrogproductions.com, but it's currently offline.... Another good one can be found on the Tolkien Sarcasm page.

The one on Jerry the Frog is stuff like:
FILM LEGOLAS - On top of the snow. ANIMATED LEGOLAS - On crack.
FILM SAURON - Too evil to imagine. ANIMATED SAURON - Too difficult to animate.
FILM ARAGORN - Lacking in nothing badass. ANIMATED ARAGORN - Lacking in pants.

That reminds me of my interpretation of the Balrog. Here's my (and my mom's) commentary:
Me: Where's the Balrog? Mom: Shut up!
Me: Where is HE? Mom: Shut UP!
Me: WHAT IN GOD'S GOOD EARTH IS THAT?! Mom:WILL YOU NOT SHUT YOUR EVER-LOVING MOUTH?!!

LOL!!!!! Ohhh, that's funny.....
The Balrog in the animated version looked so crap.... it was a midget!!! With fluffy slippers!!! And it could fly, so why didn't it just fly out of the pit?????

i'm so glad that PJ decided to go with subtle shadows of wings so that people can decide for themselves if the Balrog had wings or not. ;D Tahvee, you cannot argue with me again!
Another thing that really makes me think that the Devil was the executive producer of the E.C.V.O.LotR is the pronunciation of names and places. GRR I can't stand listening to them say Minas Tirith like the i was a y.. and I winced when they pronounced Rohan like Rowan. GAH!!
