I have no clue about most of it. I was reading the Iliad for a while, but then got The Chronicles of Narnia and returned The Iliad so I could read that, then had to get another book because of Junior English, and now I have so many books but am reading NONE on them.

Awwww.... schnookums. I have heaps of books to read and no idea where to start...
And the Greek authors could never agree on facts like that. I'd just choose your favourite idea and stick to that. Like I prefer the story of Aphrodite being born from the blood of Uranus when it fell into the sea than her being Zeus's daughter, cos otherwise the thing with him hitting on her is kinda gross.

*shudders* Correct. But then, Zeus also married his sister, which is gross to.

Yes, indeedy. At least the Romans punished people like that. There was a case of a guy who committed incest with his daughter (EWEWEWEW), and was punished by being pushed off a really, really big rock.

Yet they sent innocents and Christians into the Colosseum.

Mmmmm. Funny lot, the Romans. One of their most fondly remembered legends is when Rome was first founded, and there weren't enough girls to go round, so they kidnapped a load of girls from a nearby tribe. That's where the tradition of carrying the bride over the threshold comes from.

I strongly dislike the Romans. Don't know why, just do. Probably 'I Clavdivs' fault

I never saw that... but the new programme Rome is quite good. Except for the "Oh look, they're having sex again" bits.

The women in question were the Sabine women, I do believe. And does that mean that carrying someone over the threshold implies you're then going to rape them?

I hope not.
I haven't seen Rome 'cause we forgot to tape it.

Oh yes. The Greeks had the Olympics, which the Romans gave up on. *glares at Romans*
