My main one at the moment is - How the hell do I write a story with EIGHT MAIN CHARACTERS???

Take it one bit at a time......don't try and write them all at once. Or if you do, make sure you know what you're talking about. This probably isn't helping

Ummm... well, I kinda have to. It would be like Tolkien writing the Fellowship of the Ring and trying to make each member as important as the next, and understanding how they're all feeling. Except one less.

Hmm. I can't really help then. Sorry.

Hmmm. Darn. I might write it like the episode 3 novelization - you know, occasionally cutting to each character's viewpoint?

That might work. Or you could try writing each scene several times, each from a different character point of view. If you don't mind re-writing scenes that is.

No, I have no problem with that...
I tried writing a first scene. When I pictured it in my head, it was OK, but when I tried to write it down it was CRAP.
I want to make this as a movie... that would work better...

I have the 'perfect in head, but bloody awful on paper' syndrome too..I tend to soldier on, then cringe painfully at the end.
You'd need lotsa actors and special effects. Or an audience with a copy of the script and/or imagination.

Not necessarily...
Am trying to get past it by imagining it as a film then describing the scene.
